Basement Reconstruction for Existing Home

After severe damage caused the basement walls of an existing brick home to fail, the structure required significant reconstruction and long-term drainage improvements. Working alongside Samaritan’s Purse, our team was brought in to assist with restoring stability and preparing the basement for a newly built structure within the existing home.

Rebuilding Within an Existing Structure

This project took place in the basement of an already existing brick home. Once the damaged walls were addressed and a new structure was built within the basement area, proper site work became critical to protect the investment and ensure long-term durability.

Working carefully around the existing home, we excavated and prepared the site for drainage and concrete work.

Installing a French Drain System

To prevent future water issues, we installed a full French drain system around the home’s perimeter. Proper drainage is essential in preventing hydrostatic pressure buildup against basement walls — especially after structural failure.

Using a skid steer and mini excavator, we completed trenching and grading with precision while minimizing disturbance to the property.

Concrete & Exterior Improvements

Our scope of work included:

  • Pouring a new basement slab
  • Gravel installation for the basement driveway

Each area was carefully graded and compacted to ensure proper runoff and structural longevity.

Equipment Used

  • Skid steer for grading and material handling
  • Mini excavator for trenching and controlled excavation

Project Outcome

What began as a severely damaged basement within a brick home is now supported by proper drainage, solid concrete work, and improved access. With the new interior structure in place and the exterior improvements completed, the home is positioned for long-term stability and protection.
